Would you like to know how to efficiently segment audiences, improve your optimization process, and target your audience with precision? The solution might be simpler than you think!

It can all be done by leveraging AdMaven's Smart CPA. Check out this case study to discover how one of our clients achieved impressive results with this powerful tool that you can use, too.

We can already tell you the result: a better conversion rate, higher ROI, and lots of time and effort saved.

One of our clients put this winning method into practice. Let’s see how he did.

Yoav Gross Tells His Story

I started working with AdMaven back in 2023. At the time, I was running CPM offers focused on User Acquisition through subscription flows. The traffic quality was always pretty good, but scaling volumes was a bit of a struggle. One big issue with CPM campaigns was how much time they took, because of the need for constant monitoring and fine-tuning, which I just couldn’t keep up with. Then, when AdMaven launched their new platform, my account manager recommended I try the Smart CPA method. It seemed like a good fit, so I decided to give it a shot.

With the help of AdMaven's Smart CPA, collecting conversions was a piece of cake.

All I had to do was choose the targeting of my campaign and then make sure that the AdMaven Postback URL was implemented correctly on my tracker solution.

With Smart CPA's automatic optimization, I was then able to drive conversions at the target price I set, and the traffic that was sent to my offer was suitable for my product.

I kept the campaign up and running for 14 days. In the beginning, the campaign faced some challenges, as is often the case with new campaigns. According to my account manager at AdMaven, this is a normal part of the process when launching a Smart CPA campaign.

Things looked up rather quickly, though. Over time, as more conversions were collected, the performance improved significantly. I started seeing conversions at the price I wanted to pay, with traffic becoming more relevant, while inefficient sources were cut off. This was a big improvement compared to my previous CPM campaigns, where I had to manually manage bids and carefully monitor costs to avoid overspending

Below you can see the numbers that I gathered with this campaign:

Q&A with Yoav on his Smart CPA Campaign

How was the process?
I didn’t have to do much at all. It saved me time, improved my %CR (conversion rate), and delivered better overall results. What stood out was how quickly I started getting highly relevant traffic with barely any optimization on my part.

People should know that when you launch a campaign, there’s an initial learning period. I noticed that the cost of traffic per conversion may exceed the CPA Goal, so I discussed this with my account manager. He told me that once this period is over, the cost will be closer to the required CPA Goal, and this is exactly what happened.
Do you have a tip for other advertisers?
Yes. I was very happy with the results. When I got the chance, I decided to try to optimize the campaign a little more.

As the campaign progressed and more data rolled in, I started creating blacklists and whitelists based on how different traffic sources were performing. Over time, I was able to figure out which sources were delivering the best results and which ones weren’t as effective. This made it easier to fine-tune my targeting and get even better results.

What I’m saying is, if you want to take your campaign optimization a step further, once the campaign has adjusted, you can create whitelists and blacklists as an extra step. Just make sure to give the campaign enough time to adjust first!
Do you think other advertisers should use Smart CPA for their campaigns?
Through the new AdMaven platform, there are three campaign types, all of which are effective. The choice of campaign type depends on the advertiser and the product they want to promote on AdMaven's traffic.

However, the option to run campaigns using the Smart CPA method adds great value, especially for advertisers looking for a simpler approach and wanting to rely on AdMaven’s system to do most of the work for them.

Tip: With Smart CPA, the platform’s algorithm automatically optimizes your campaign based on performance data, which saves you time and effort. Instead of manually tweaking every detail, the system learns what works best and adjusts accordingly. This makes it especially useful for advertisers who may not have the resources or time to constantly monitor and refine their campaigns but still want strong results.

Final thoughts

Using the Smart CPA method was a game-changer for my campaigns.

At first, during the testing phase, the cost per conversion was slightly higher, but as the campaign gathered more data, the performance improved, and the costs aligned with my target CPA.

The traffic became highly relevant to my campaign parameters, allowing me to achieve better results, save time, and scale my campaigns effectively.
